Project Manager for data platform implementation

This new strategic initiative is critical for enhancing the data management capabilities, improving operational efficiency, and supporting future growth. The implementation of the Data Platform is a complex project that requires dedicated leadership to ensure its success. To properly support this implementation, we seek to engage a qualified and experienced Project Manager to lead the Data Platform implementation. This individual will act as the primary counterpart to the external provider, ensuring alignment between all parties involved, and will be responsible for driving the project to successful completion. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in leading large-scale data platform projects, preferably within the insurance or reinsurance industry.

Responsibilities

Strong technical background: Data Platform Implementation: Experience with implementing data platforms, data warehousing, and data management solutions including cloud solutions. Understanding of data governance, data architecture, and data quality frameworks.

Project Management Skills: Proven Track Record: Extensive experience in managing large-scale, complex data platform implementations, also in the cloud. Ability to manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and resources effectively. Methodologies and Tools: Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA). Experience in risk management, change management, and quality assurance processes.

Stakeholder Management: Ability to engage with senior leadership and manage expectations of various stakeholders. Strong negotiation skills to facilitate agreements between internal teams and external vendors.

Leadership and Team Management: Team Coordination: Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams. Experience in coordinating efforts between internal departments (e.g., Finance, IT) and external providers. Mentorship: Ability to mentor team members and promote a collaborative project environment. Experience in conflict resolution and performance management within project teams. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills.

Attention to Detail: Strong focus on detail to identify potential project risks and issues early. Capability to ensure consistency and alignment in project execution.

Communication and Collaboration: Effective Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience in preparing and delivering presentations, status reports, and project documentation. Collaboration Skills: Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and foster strong working relationships. Skilled in conducting meetings, workshops, and facilitating discussions to drive project progress.

Reinsurance Knowledge (Highly Advantageous): Industry Regulations: Understanding of regulatory requirements specific to the reinsurance industry, such as Solvency II or IFRS 17. Operational Insight: Familiarity with reinsurance operational processes, risk management, and compliance standards.

Project Management Certifications: Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is highly desirable. Certifications in Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum Master) are beneficial.

Other Qualifications: Experience Level: Minimum of 7-10 years of project management experience, with at least 5 years in managing data platform or similar IT implementation projects. Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.

Language Skills: Proficiency in English is required.

Availability: Willingness to commit to full-time engagement with at least 80% on-site presence.
