About Škoda Auto a.s.

Škoda Auto is a traditional Czech car manufacturer that needs no further introduction. In addition to production, Mladá Boleslav is also home to the development of new models, where, among other things, the form of future interiors and interfaces communicating with the crew is created. Even in the initial design stages, these technical development departments address the user experience of driving and infotainment control, and therefore employ UX design techniques.

What was the scope of cooperation?

For the client, we have built and are long-term developing a team of UX specialists consisting of designers, researchers, analysts, engineers, and management roles such as PO and SM. The team provides designs – concepts – for future HMI (Human Machine Interface) for the successful continuous development of infotainment and other digital interfaces in the driver's cabin for future Škoda vehicle models. Our team is part of the vehicle technical development, serving as a vital component that brings the client proposals for vehicle cockpit functionality.

What did we help the client with?

  • Our service ensures the creative process of developing UX concepts for the in-vehicle user interface (HMI), following the principles of customer-centricity, user experience, and the client's UX standards.
  • Together with the client, we designed the team structure and defined the ideal composition of roles that met the specific needs of the project and the environment in which the team operates.
  • We took care of the complete recruitment process – from reaching out to candidates to their successful onboarding. We subsequently maintained the team at the required capacity and ensured its operational stability.
  • Part of our service also included technical support for the project – for example, the necessary hardware for testing.
  • We have long-term developed the delivered service and the performance of the entire team with the client. We continuously optimized its composition to reflect the current needs and priorities of the assignment.

What does the client say about the cooperation?

“I began cooperating with the UX team from Projectman about a year after it started operating at Škoda Auto. We continuously address the QA of deliveries as well as changes in the required capacity. What is important to me, however, is that we have always communicated any issues both ways and found solutions together with the people from Projectman.

Our cooperation is a partnership that brings me creativity in designing developed interfaces for future vehicle cockpits, with an emphasis on customer UX and the high quality standard required by our brand.”
