Head of PMO – IT Solutions Provider (Freelance, SK)

About the role:

We are looking for a senior PMO leader who will own both the PMO and the company’s transformation programme. You will:

• Lead and develop the PMO and project management community
• Shape and run the transformation programme end to end – from planning to change management
• Set up and improve the software delivery life cycle and project governance
• Manage the project portfolio – customer and internal projects, with focus on custom software delivery
• Define and continuously improve PMO methodologies, standards and governance (reporting, prioritisation, decision-making)
• Manage, lead and mentor a team of 10+ Project Managers, Service Delivery Managers, SCRUM Masters/Junior PMs.

Who We Are Looking For:

• A senior Project / Program Manager or PMO Lead with experience  in software delivery – ideally custom software development, not only implementation of off-the-shelf solutions 
• Experience with and knowledge of PMO Best practices – you know what modern project governance should look like etc.
• Track record of managing complex transformation programmes (ideally in IT / software companies)
• Proven experience in leading people (PMs, and ideally also SDMs, Scrum Masters).
• Ability to act as a partner to the leadership team and at the same time:
  • drive portfolio and transformation strategically
  • be “on the ground” and manage key initiatives as a PM
• Willingness to be on-site in Bratislava at least 3–4 days per week.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, ability to openly name problems and actively look for solutions.
